Who decide
A handful of senior principals with backgrounds as operators and investors. Every approach is read and answered by a principal — there is no deal-sift layer in between.
Our approach
Ravensholme was founded to do something simple and increasingly rare: to own good businesses well, for a long time, alongside the people who built them. Everything else follows from that.
The story
Ravensholme began with a frustration common to founders and family owners: the moment a business becomes successful, the options presented for its future are almost all the same — sell to a fund with a fixed clock, hand over control, and watch the new owner optimise for an exit that has nothing to do with the business itself.
We thought there ought to be another option. A group with permanent capital, no obligation to exit, and principals who would treat each business as something to be stewarded rather than traded. A group small enough to know its companies personally and patient enough to let compounding work.
Established in the United Kingdom in 2013, Ravensholme today is exactly that: a private holdings, investment and advisory group that acquires, advises on, funds and stewards operating companies across a focused set of sectors — and that grows by reputation, one relationship at a time.
What we believe
These are not values on a poster. They are the filters we actually use when we choose what to own, who to partner with, and how to behave once we do.
We treat every business as a trust — held for a time on behalf of the people who depend on it, and improved before it is passed on.
Compounding rewards the unhurried. We make decisions on the business’s schedule, and we resist the pressure to shortcut for a quicker return.
Our principals invest their own capital alongside partners. When the business does well, we do well together; when it does not, we share that too.
Most of what we do never becomes public, by design. We keep confidences, and we keep our name off our companies’ shop fronts.
We would rather do a few things properly than many things averagely. Quality is a competitive advantage that compounds quietly.
To staff, customers, vendors and communities. A business run with decency is, over the long run, also the better investment.
The firm
We stay deliberately compact so that the people who decide are the people who do the work. Sector expertise comes from a network of operating partners who have run the kinds of businesses we own.
A handful of senior principals with backgrounds as operators and investors. Every approach is read and answered by a principal — there is no deal-sift layer in between.
A lean team that leads analysis, diligence and portfolio support. They work closely with management of our companies rather than from a distance.
Experienced sector operators we bring alongside specific holdings and opportunities — chairpeople, finance directors and specialists on demand.
The group
Ravensholme’s reach extends beyond the United Kingdom through its portfolio. Our most established operating company works in a very different market.
European Technical is a licensed Dubai home-maintenance and technical-services company — the group’s operating presence in the United Arab Emirates. It delivers European-standard AC, plumbing, electrical, painting, handyman and property-maintenance services to homes and property across Dubai, embodying the same emphasis on craftsmanship and reliability that the group looks for in every holding.
Work with us
We are always glad to meet founders, families and boards who share a long-horizon view — whether or not there is a transaction in mind.
